Menu...

Above is my final idea for my menu front cover. I am again giving all the branding a uniformed look as the brief asks. I have again used imagery that was firstly placed on my mural. I feel that the Menu cover is aesthetically pleasing enough but is quite simple at the same time. Even though when working with my mural i felt blue was a slightly dense colour, for the menu I lightened it and it works perfect making the background look like the sky, the skyline and hearts work well as again it's branding Paris as the city of love and doing it in a quirky way through the colours used and illustrative style. I particularly like the fact that I choose to draw out the 'menu' type for my cover as well, again keeping the the uniformed look of all the branding as well as appealing to the youthful audience again.

Here is my double page spread for my menu. I kept the layout quite simple as I wanted the food that was on offer to be completely legible to read. I have kept with the Brush script MT font again for the text to the branding consistent. Again I drew out the type 'maki/futomaki for the same reasons as stated above. I wanted also to include something food related seen as though it is the menu. I felt that the coloured plates compliment the blue background really well and stand out against the black silhouette of the skyline in the corner. Its eye catching but doesn't take away from the menu content.

  1. the critical part of the branding brief was to execute an artstyle that was appropriate, on reflection i feel that you could have made the illus style less "schoolbook" it needs resolving and perfecting?
